Dr.Shams is a trained and licensed therapist working remotely. She is also also an adjunct instructor at Grand Canyon University Phoenix,USA.
Dr.Nashat Shams has a vast experience in counseling individuals with diverse cultural backgrounds and with different age groups.Her clinical experience includes counseling clients with various age group with mild to severe mental health conditions. Her interventional approach is CBT, Mindful and TEAM-CBT.
Due to her family background, she is highly sensitive and respectful to various cultures and social backgrounds. Dr.Nashat had conducted two research studies on the Arab women in UAE and presented workshops on various medical and psychological issues to Non-Arab and Arab communities.
Dr.Shams professional background as a physician further enhanced her clinical skills as a counselor to educate the clients about the psychosocial and medical aspects of their psychological and medical illness.
Dr.Nashat is a calm and mild-mannered woman who acts firmly and tactfully in challenging situations professionally and personally. She enjoyed helping people with psychological and personal problems, which are the basis of her career choice, and believe can make a difference. Dr.Nashat further contributed her experiences to empower her clients to create positive change in society. She is a competent communicator and listener and always respect healthy criticism from her clients to improve her role as a professional therapist.
