Naureen Dharani is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in NY state (NY Lic. No. 009389) and is also a National Certified Counselor (NCC). Additionally, Naureen is a Level II Certified Clinical Trauma Professional working with clients who present with extensive trauma. Accelerated Resolution Therapy is a unique approach that is not suitable for every client. To inquire for additional information, please schedule a consult.
In addition to trauma related issues, Naureen specializes in addiction (specifically substance abuse related), codependency, depression, anxiety, grief/loss, and general mental health. She has worked tirelessly in her religious community to combat South Asian Mental Health stigmas and promote access to mental health. Naureen is well versed in asian and south asian related cultural issues and provides a safe, empathetic, and nonjudmental space to discuss your mental health concerns.
Naureen's approach to psychotherapy is eclectic with an emphasis on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Innerchild Work, Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing. Naureen inspires clients to work on their personal development between sessions through the use of exercises and light readings. She enjoys having an integrative and collaborative process in therapy and believes that the work done in therapy continues outside of the session.
Due to COVID-19, Naureen is not currently seeing clients in person. All sessions will be conducted remote via telehealth video sessions. Phone sessions available by request. Post COVID in person sessions will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
