Professional statement

Nava Narayani is a licensed psychotherapist offering individual, relationship, and group therapy in-person in Wheat Ridge, CO and online. Nava specializes in sexual trauma recovery and healing attachment injuries. Her work is affirming of diverse backgrounds including LGBTQIA2S+, BIPOC, mystics, sex workers, psychedelic use, kink, and all spiritual beliefs. Additionally, she takes into consideration systemic, ancestral, and cultural influences in client's overall wellbeing. She offers a collaborative approach, working together to set goals and the pacing of the therapeutic work.

Nava's therapeutic approach includes the following:

Somatic work to guide clients in interpreting their body's signals and bringing friendliness & safety in the body.

Contemplative psychotherapy to help clients clarify and accept their authentic selves so that healing comes from their innate wisdom. This approach encourages soft resiliency and courageous vulnerability.

Emotionally Focused Therapy to build emotional skillfulness, improve communication patterns in relationships, and heal attachment wounds.

Additionally, art therapy, Reiki, Internal Family Systems, and Gottman Method.

Nava received her degree in Clinical Mental Health with a focus in Contemplative Psychotherapy and Buddhist Psychology from Naropa University. She became fascinated by relationship theory and intensely pursued education in that area. She graduated with a certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy from the Denver Family Institute and has completed professional education in Emotionally Focused Couple's Therapy (EFT), Gottman Method, and Psychobiological Approach to Couple's Therapy (PACT). She integrates these modalities into polyamory theory as well. Before graduate school, Nava comes from a background in dance, circus arts, bodywork, sex work, and worldly explorations in alternative healing modalities outside of the USA culture.

As a therapist, Nava is also highly influenced by her own journey in recovery from sexual trauma and is passionate about guiding others to be free from the binds of trauma.

Message to clients

If you are feeling out of alignment with yourself, it may manifest as confusion, stress, anxiety, or depression. In therapy, we'll untangle the mess and pave new ways of being. I believe you are a whole-body processing system. I help you to integrate your somatic (body) and emotional experiences to come into alignment with your innate brilliance and authentic truths. We may work to understand your attachment history, how this is affecting your relationships today, and what you need to create the genuine connections, love, and sex you long for. In trauma therapy, you'll unlock frozen patterns in the body, safely process intense emotions, feel heard & validated, build up self-esteem & confidence, and bring life to where was once dead.

I believe "relationshipping" is a skill, so it's totally normal to reach a point where you realize there is more for you to learn and grow! It's such a worthwhile skill to invest in and master since, as the wonderful therapist Esther Perel says, "The quality of your life is determined by the quality of your relationships." Is your relationship struggling with cyclical arguments that go nowhere, sexual issues, communication issues, cultural misunderstandings, or lack of emotional closeness? In my office, you’ll learn relationship skills to communicate more effectively, decrease the intensity of arguments, create emotional safety and intimacy, increase reliability on each other, and clarity about what each of you wants and needs.

I look forward to joining you on your journey!
