I primarily work with adults and young adults suffering from depression, anxiety, and/or addiction, in addition to those struggling with relational/communication issues. I take a highly personal, strengths-based, positive approach tailored to each client's individual needs. In addition to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which directly targets negative thoughts, I use an acceptance-based approach by encouraging clients to accept, rather than negate, current thoughts patterns so that clients can move toward their values and start living meaningful and productive lives.
Additionally, as an EMDR-trained therapist, I use EMDR to reprocess a client's maladaptive cognitions so that they become healthy and adaptive through gentle guided eye movement. This eliminates the negative impact of trauma including those resulting in PTSD.
My general nature, enhanced by social work values, makes my therapeutic interventions highly person-centered. I am also able to advocate for my clients and help them realize meaningful and achievable goals due to skills developed over a 20-year career as an attorney. Additionally, you are guaranteed to always be greeted with a smile.
