Nicholas’s style of therapy is warm and engaging. He’s transparent and authentic, and that's reflected in his practice.
Nicholas also places a strong focus on open communication—including what’s working for his clients in therapy and what’s not—so he can tailor his approach accordingly. The client’s voice is the one that matters the most in the room. Whenever the client is ready, Nicholas likes to invite conflict and difficult emotions into session so they can resolve them in a way that feels safe. Some days, that means sitting with a difficult emotion. Other days, that means finding concrete strategies to tackle life’s struggles.
Working with profoundly psychiatrically acute children, teens, families, and young adults at a residential and outpatient setting was formative for Nicholas. Through this experience, he learned that people inherently run for spaces where they feel accepted and safe. His specialty is creating that space for his clients—even in the most difficult circumstances.
