Professional statement

Nichole Price is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Trauma Treatment Provider (CTTP) located in Kansas City, MO. She specializes in working with adults who continue to have painful emotional reactions to previous traumatic experiences, including physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. She also works with those who have survived spiritual and religious abuse, narcissistic abuse, as well as betrayal and relational trauma. Many of her clients are experiencing Complex PTSD, dissociative disorders, and eating disorders. They also often suffer from low self-esteem, heightened fear, excessive crying, and anxiety. Nichole’s clients also have difficulty trusting others and have had problems with isolation, fawning, and hyper-vigilance around people.

Nichole specializes in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and Brainspotting therapy, two evidence-based therapy modalities that can help clients to reduce their trauma symptoms. She also teaches clients techniques from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), including effective coping and communication strategies. Clients also learn a great deal about themselves and sometimes benefit from doing Ego State work to improve inner relationships amongst various parts or states of themselves. Clients learn about Attachment and work towards developing healthy attachment patterns in their relationships. Nichole’s goal is to help clients heal their minds so their "past" stops being their "now," and they can then take control of their lives and build meaningful futures for themselves.

Nichole earned a Master’s degree from the University of Kansas. She has a certificate from EMDRIA and has over 10 years of experience offering EMDR. Clients leave sessions with Nichole feeling validated, cared-for, respected, and that, "finally," someone "gets" them. They learn the neuroscience behind trauma which helps them feel more normal. Being seen and heard as well as validated zaps the shame her clients have suffered with, sometimes, for all their lives.

Message to clients

Dear potential client,

I help people who have survived painful life experiences to FINALLY break free from the toxic residues of their pasts. My client's come to me locked in cycles of flashbacks, nightmares, anxiety, addiction, eating disorders, regret, anger, resentment, and/or shame. They experience chronic self-esteem problems and sometimes, even a fractured and fragmented sense of who they are at their core. They leave treatment empowered, resilient, healthy and WHOLE.

If this sounds like you, I firstly applaud you for considering getting some help. Trust is extremely difficult for most of my clients. And therapy? Well, there is sometimes no greater vulnerability to be experienced than in counseling. When you are speaking of your own personal story and all the hurts that broke you, what you need most is someone who can reflect back to you how strong you really are. That is my job. The emotions can be raw and intense, but I am not afraid of them. I can teach you how to become more comfortable with them, as well. When you fear feelings less, you stuff/compartmentalize less. Less stuffing means more living IN. THE. MOMENT. If this is what you want--to be free from the bindings of your past to be in the world NOW, please consider calling me today.

Warmly,

Nichole Price

P.S. "Ring the bells that still can ring

Forget your perfect offering

There is a crack, a crack in everything

That’s how the light gets in."
