Professional statement

Nicole Cocchiaro is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker located in New York. Nicole is passionate about helping clients who want to enhance their mental health, build up their coping skills, and smooth out their relationships with others. Many of Nicole’s clients suffer from feeling lonely, isolated, disappointed in themselves, frustrated with the people around them, or panicky in everyday situations. Nicole compassionately guides each client to develop and reach authentic mental health goals.

Nicole’s approach to therapy features a focus on personal growth and self-esteem. She supports her clients as they learn more about who they are, where they come from, and why they react emotionally as they do. Nicole teaches couples and partners how to be open about their emotional needs and sexual desires, growing a sense of connecting and strengthening their bond. Her therapy is person-centered, as she tailors therapy sessions to the personalities, needs, and goals of each client.

Nicole earned her Master’s degree from Fordham University. She has extensive experience being an ally for disenfranchised populations throughout her career. She is a strong advocate for social justice and strives to create a safe, open environment for all of her clients.

Message to clients

I deeply believe each person should define who they are and how they want others to see them while loving and accepting themselves. If that is something you struggle with, I’m here, ready to help you learn concrete strategies to make that a reality in your life!

I support my clients to decrease negative thought processes and fully recognize and utilize their strengths. I mostly employ strategies from a strengths-based approach and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, but sessions with me are driven by YOUR needs. We can delve into your past as much as you like or stay focused on current struggles you are experiencing in your life. I have experience supporting a range of clients – from people with long-term mental illnesses to people experiencing new symptoms / traumatic life events. Ultimately, I focus on problem solving and skill-building so you can quickly feel the impact of your sessions in your daily life and discover more self-fulfillment and love.

I offer a complimentary 15-min phone consultation to potential new clients.
