Professional statement

Nicole Goudreau-Green is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Pleasantville, NY. She works with individuals and families. Many of Nicole’s clients come in to address anxiety, maternal mental health, family conflict and life transitions. Nicole is particularly passionate about serving mothers and families. She has advanced training in treating anxiety disorders, Borderline Personality Disorder, and substance use disorders.

Nicole uses an approach that includes mindfulness, aspects of Dialectical Behavior Therapy, psychodynamic therapy and family systems theory. This approach supports us in exploring thoughts, emotions, and patterns within your relationships, to achieve long term success. In session, Nicole focuses on exploring relationship patterns and supporting you in learning strategies to experience immediate and long term relief. This approach supports clients to feel less overwhelmed, more supported, and better able to communicate and get their needs met.

Nicole's style is warm, engaging and non-judgmental. When clients first start therapy, we will work to create a strong relationship, and develop a clear understanding of your history and goals for therapy.

Nicole received their MSW from Fordham University. She has worked in a variety of in-patient and out-patient settings, including North American Family Institute and Silver Hill Hospital, where she worked as an individual and family therapist for adolescents and their families; and Wheeler Clinic and Westchester Jewish Community Services as a Clinical Supervisor and Therapist focusing on trauma and substance use treatment. Outside of private practice, she enjoys the outdoors, camping and traveling, and is passionate about social justice. Nicole offers both in-person and remote therapy options.

Message to clients

Finding a therapist you can connect with is so important. When you’re already facing anxiety, distrust or conflict in your life, coming to therapy, while desired, may feel scary. The trust and confidence you build in me is just as important, if not more important, than the training I’ve received.

We’ll meet for 50 minutes each week, talk about what’s important to you, what you’re feeling and relationships in your life. For this to happen, it’s important that you feel accepted and not judged in the room with me. My hope is to create a space you feel safe to explore vulnerable topics, identify your own needs and goals, and co-create a plan to help you achieve these.

Throughout therapy, we’ll talk about what’s working and what’s not for you. When things come up in our relationship together, as it does within all relationships, my goal is to explore this and repair when needed.

I hope to hear from you soon!
