Professional statement

Dr. Nicole Young is a clinical psychologist who founded Infertility Support of Glenside in PA. Her specialties include couples therapy, therapy for anxiety and depression, and therapy for those undergoing infertility.

As an experienced specialist who has been through infertility personally, she believes that infertility does not have to define you. Dr. Young follows clients from treatment into pregnancy, postpartum, and adjustment to parenthood, and also helps with the difficult decision of when to stop treatment.

Dr Young also treats couples, for a wide variety of issues, using the Gottman method. Specialties include adjustment to parenthood, communication problems, division of labor issues, intimacy issues, and more.

Dr. Young worked in college counseling for five years. She enjoys working with twentysomethings, because emerging adulthood is such a critical time in a person’s life. Before that, she commissioned into the United States Air Force as a psychologist for four years. She worked with active duty service members, veterans, and their families on a wide range of issues, which gives her a solid base to treat many different types of problems.

Dr. Young uses Acceptance and Commitment Therapy because it teaches clients how to hold painful emotions while still living a meaningful, value-driven life, which is highly relevant to the lives of those going through infertility treatment (as well as everyone else!). She uses other modalities, like CBT, when relevant.

Dr. Young sees clients in person in Glenside, PA. She also offers Telehealth as a PsyPact member who can practice in over 40 states. This is helpful for clients who travel for work often, those who live in one state and work in another, those who live on the road, those who have more than one home (college student, summer home, etc), or for couples residing in different states.

Message to clients

Clients come to me looking for a therapist who understands the deep anguish they are feeling, because therapy should be a place where you feel supported. Therapy sessions with me are a combination of talking things through, and learning ways to cope out in the world. Together, we help you find joy in life again. And we always go at your pace, never pushing to a place you don't feel ready to be.

You don't have to continue to struggle to keep it all together, and you don't have to do it alone. I can help.

You are welcome to use the Zencare scheduling tool, or you can reach out to me directly through the footer contact form on my website if you'd like to talk to me sooner. Usually I am able to respond same day or within 24 hours.

I can't wait to hear from you.
