Professional statement

Noel Bohl-Fabian, LCSW is a psychodynamic/psychoanalytic psychotherapist based on the Upper West Side. She works with children, adolescents, and adults. She has worked in behavioral outpatient, family services and foster care, women's health, and addiction settings. Noel graduated form Columbia School of Social Work in 2017. She received a certificate in Psychedelic Harm Reduction and Integration from Fluence in 2021, and she is a candidate at the Contemporary Freudian Society of New York.

Noel works with a variety of symptoms including mood disorders (depression, mood swings), anxiety disorders, obsessional disorders, and has a special interest in gender identity, sexuality including sexual trauma, and dissociation. She also works with burnout, grief and bereavement, and substance abuse.

Noel's office is located on Central Park West and 87th Street, which is accessible from the 1,2,3 B and C trains. She is available for in-person and remote sessions.

Together we will explore the origins of the ways you have come to think, feel, and understand yourself, your relationships and attachments to others, and your relationship to the external world while developing greater curiosity and openness to alternative ways of processing and integrating information. In session, Noel focuses on using free-association, journaling, nourishing self-care, nurturing connections to others, and grounding. This approach supports clients to feel empowered to commit to their self-discovery and growth.

Noel's style is gentle, thought-provoking, and non-directive. When I begin working with clients, we start by getting a clear picture of what has been causing the most distress, and establish a consistent and welcoming environment where they feel safe and listened to.

Message to clients

Welcome! I would be delighted to work with you. I know that the world is challenging right now for so many people, and I believe it can beneficial and rewarding to carve out consistent time in your day, to have a place to find refuge, to gather and collect your thoughts and feelings and sort out where you are now and where you want to go. I imagine the mind is like a garden, and it takes consistent work over time to weed out the thoughts, ideas or beliefs that are sabotaging you or preventing something new from growing in its place. I am confident in my abilities to help individuals grow stronger, to process tough experiences and find internal resources to promote growth, healing, stability, and learning. Everyone has a unique story to tell and I look forward to hearing yours.
