Licensed Mental Health Counselor, LMHCShe/Her/Hers
Licensed Mental Health Counselor, LMHCPashmina Rashad is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based in Somerset County, New Jersey, who works with adults across the lifespan. She has a particular focus on working with high functioning professionals who are going through major life transitions, struggling with feeling confident in their self worth, or dealing with relational issues. Many of her clients come to her in need of support as they try to navigate multiple roles and relationships at the same time. Often, at times of major shifts in life stages, people experience seismic changes in their identity and this is informed not only by their past experiences but also by the culture around them. Our cultural backgrounds, religious sensibilities, race, and gender roles all work together to shape how we deal with the many seasons of life. Pashmina is experienced in helping her clients to examine their context with a bird's eye view while also exploring their unique experiences to help enlighten, strengthen and heal themselves so they can thrive.
Pashmina uses a developmental lens along with an evidence based Cognitive Behavioral approach to help clients learn the skills they need to understand what they are experiencing. She helps clients gain insight into the thought-feeling-behavior loop they might be stuck in so that they can practice how to reframe underlying belief systems that do not serve them. Pashmina believes that even in the midst of a crisis, therapy can help clients make lasting gains that help them grow and evolve. She works to cultivate a safe and trusting environment where clients can dig deep and master offering themselves compassion and accountability.
Pashmina is happy to be back in the office offering in person sessions while providing telehealth sessions to those who need them. She is currently accepting new clients in her Bernardsville office.
