Professional statement

Patricia Behn-Wright is a Licensed Mental Health Therapist and registered art therapist in Florida. In 2009. Patricia's journey towards the mental health profession began on a foundation of educating couples in the development of healthy relationship practices. She served as an 8 block sector leader for the pilot program towards the Trauma Response and Intervention Movement for TR4IM on Chicago's West Side. Over the years, Patricia has developed a diverse toolkit to enhance her client's therapeutic experience, including art therapy, harm reduction, trauma-informed care, art therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy techniques, crisis management, Seeking Safety methods, motivational interviewing, positive discipline, and Adlerian theory. Patricia has experience with clients from preschool age to senior citizens on issues like mood disorders, chronic pain, trauma, PTSD, stress, anger management, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, parenting, grief, homelessness, and codependency.

Patricia's passion about mental health stems from her belief that mental health and experiences shape our identity and overall well-being. Learning to cope with uncomfortable emotions builds resilience, even when early emotional growth was stunted.

As an art therapist, Patricia utilizes a person-centered approach that blends art (sand tray, drawing, painting) with mindfulness, CBT, and/or play therapy techniques while providing a safe space for healing with the needs of her clients in mind. Art is a powerful tool to express experiences and foster healing. Patricia's specialties include trauma, chronic pain, and self-esteem, with the goal of helping you break through systemic constraints to discover your inner strength.
