Licensed Master Social Worker, LMSW PhD Specialties • Insurance & Fees • LocationsPauline Bernard is a licensed therapist who specializes in helping teenagers, young adults, and adults navigate life transitions in a new culture. She is particularly passionate about working with newcomers to the US, but is also skilled in working with people who are moving to a new city or setting, or who are experiencing other life transitions such as starting school or a job, getting married, or having a child. Pauline works with you to navigate such critical life transitions, from foreign exchange students to new parents having to learn how to care for their baby without the support of their home community. She is eager to accompany you in this fascinating, if challenging, journey, helping you to integrate the many parts of yourself so you can feel whole again.
Pauline Bernard uses a person-centered and integrative approach to therapy. This means that she works with clients to develop a personalized treatment plan that is tailored to their individual needs and goals. She draws on a variety of therapeutic approaches, including psychodynamic therapy and CBT, to help clients explore their inner struggles, develop coping strategies, and ultimately enjoy a fuller experience of life.
Pauline earned her Master’s in Social Work from Smith College. She also holds a PhD in History, and worked as a researcher in the Department of Psychiatry at the Yale School of Medicine. Her research has appeared on several academic journals including Social Work in Mental Health, Psychosis, and Psychiatry.
She provides therapy in English, French, and Italian.
