Professional statement

Piaget Griffin is an LMSW providing psychotherapy to adults. She is committed to partnering with clients who face low to high levels of stress and anxiety while navigating life crises and new paths of discovery. New journeys and transitions can be exciting but, for some, they can bring on discomfort. You may find yourself feeling stuck, unmotivated, isolated, or even restless at times. Piaget’s relaxed engagement style and use of mindfulness interventions will help you identify underlying feelings and strengths in a newfound agency. Her clients range from first generation college students establishing their foundation, to middle aged professionals seeking self-care for a better work/life balance.

Piaget's previous experience in the child welfare arena has prepared her to successfully provide a secure yet unbounded space while discussing sensitive topics with clients. With much advocacy and work gained in trauma informed care, she understands the holistic impact of trauma and how it can influence one's coping capacity, behaviors and language. Sessions with Piaget' will allow you to breathe (literally), reflect, curse, cry and affirm yourself into a fresh perspective. As a flexible solution-focused therapist, Piaget' is unafraid to address the elephant in the room, educate clients on new resources and tools, all while highlighting and applauding their unique strengths. Therapy is an investment in oneself. As an avid self-care and wellness advocate, Piaget desires that her clients get the most of their time spent in sessions.

Piaget received her MSW at Clark Atlanta University. She earned her BA in Social Work at Tuskegee University. Her work experience spans across various industries including but not limited to: non-profit organizations, community based agencies, foster care/adoption, hospitals and aviation. Outside of work, you can find her resting or engaged in self-care practices on layovers as she is no stranger to the friendly skies.

Message to clients

As a first generation graduate and first to do many things differently in my family, I know what it’s like to navigate life feeling like you are going upstream with unexpected detours. Is this the right way to go? Is there room for my difference here? Whew! Will I ever catch a break? These are just a few questions I’ve asked while navigating my own transitions. You might have asked these same questions somewhere on your journey or even right now. Let me assure you that you are not alone. There is space for you and all that you need to unpack in session with me. I provide a relaxed, engaging, respectful, and supportive space for collaborative work with my clients. My therapeutic approach is eclectic and always person-centered as I understand the needs of clients can vary or change. I view therapy as a form of self-care that should be looked forward to weekly as rest and refresh. If this message and my experience grabs your attention feel free to reach out for a 15 minute phone consultation so we can discuss your intentions for therapy.
