He/Him/His
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, LMFTHe/Him/His
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, LMFTPreston Becker is a therapist who supports individuals, from teens to seniors. He conducts his sessions virtually. From adjusting to parenthood, supporting a family, navigating teen life, struggling with substance abuse, coping with loss, and trying to find the light at the end of the tunnel, his clients turn to him for support and a deeper understanding of themselves. Preston is particularly passionate about serving men navigating the modern world. He also has advanced training in the areas of depression, grief & loss.
Preston is trained in Person-Centered therapy, an approach that brings awareness for clients that the answers most seek are hidden within. He works to help them identify the right questions to ask and uncover the solutions. This approach supports clients to feel a sense of clarity in their life that helps them make the right choices going forward. In addition to talk therapy, Preston incorporates meditation into sessions.
Preston's style is compassionate, humorous, and direct. When clients first start therapy, he works together with them to understand how they got to seeking therapy, and where they would like to go from there.
Preston received his M.A. in Counseling Psychology from the University of San Francisco. He has worked at multiple schools within the San Francisco Unified School District, serving clients from 5-19 years of age in those settings. Outside of private practice, he also works to develop community and connecting people through service and support. His practice is entirely virtual, and he is based in San Francisco.
