Randi Schweitz is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor residing in Providence, RI and also holds a license in the state of NM. Randi provides therapy services for adults whose childhoods consisted of trauma, particularly those who grew up in domestic violence situations, alcoholic households, or with parents that were emotionally or physically neglectful. Childhood trauma often leads to challenges in their adult relationships and increased difficulty when coping with major life changes. Randi’s clients feel like they aren’t good enough at work or in their personal lives, and they face excessive feelings of shame and guilt.
Randi's spiritual practices of yoga and meditation influence her approach to therapy and incorporate mind-body techniques. Clients benefit from increasing their self-awareness, learning how to notice and relate to their emotions, thoughts, beliefs, and bodily sensations. This can help them connect with the different parts of themselves that often experience self-criticism, guilt and shame. Randi also practices Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Internal Family Systems therapy, (IFS) , and the Hakomi Method which are therapy approaches used to treat the physical and emotional symptoms of trauma.
Randi earned a Master’s degree in Counseling/Psychology from Prescott University. She has completed trainings in Internal Family Systems therapy (IFS), Hakomi Method, and EMDR. Randi’s goal is to help clients connect with their authentic self and thus gain access to their innate self-compassion so they can grow and heal from past traumas.
