Professional statement

Randi Waller is a licensed professional counselor in Houston, TX and works primarily with couples and individuals (18 and older). Many of Randi’s clients come in to address depression, low self-worth, relationship challenges, and healing from trauma. Randi is particularly passionate about serving women, young adults beginning their professional lives, as well as couples who are struggling with conflict resolution.

Randi is experienced in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), existential/humanistic therapy, and motivational interviewing, in which we explore patterns of behavior and preconceived ideas about what a successful and/or happy life should look like. In session, Randi focuses on examining problematic beliefs and thoughts as well as exploring new ways to look at life. This approach supports clients to feel more aware and confident of their own wants and needs.

Randi's style is caring, supportive, and non-judgmental. When clients first start therapy, she will foster a safe and supportive environment for clients to explore their most vulnerable selves.

Randi received her Master of Education in Counseling from the University of Houston. Prior to beginning her career as a counselor, she worked in corporate settings, where she gained years of experience in an office setting developing diverse relationships and supporting leadership. Outside of private practice, she enjoys spending time with her dog, Pippa and is newly enamored with hiking and exploring National Parks. Randi is only offering virtual sessions at this time.

Message to clients

The world can feel overwhelmingly negative and confusing. We compare ourselves to other's curated lives on social media and feel like we are not enough and that we should be working harder or having more fun. The truth is, everyone is trying their best to figure it out for themselves and feel just as lost and confused as you.

I believe we are often missing the mark when all we are searching for is happiness. I feel strongly that we have to learn to tolerate the discomfort and pain that comes with existing on this planet, as well as embracing the joyous times-- after all, we wouldn't know joy without pain, right?

What I hope to offer you is a space where you can be yourself even if you don't know exactly who that is yet. Something I won't be able to do for you is provide all the answers or an exact blueprint of what to do next and that's because I am not the expert in your life- you are. But, I can, and will, provide you with the support you deserve and listen with genuine care and no judgment. My biggest hope for you is that you can be gentle with yourself and know true self-compassion. I look forward to supporting you!
