Professional statement

Rebecca is a warm and down to earth Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker operating her telehealth practice in MA and RI where she welcomes diverse individuals seeking therapeutic support to grow into their ideal self. Her practice is geared towards adults across the lifespan struggling with the effects of trauma, emotional regulation difficulties, challenges with life transitions, self esteem questions, relational difficulties and symptoms of anxiety and depression.

Her approach is rooted in a belief that many of us are doing the best we can with what we have, based on what we have experienced, and that we contain more strengths than deficits. She appreciates creating a safe, non judgemental, ethnorelative, collaborative partnership in which habits and reactions that are contributing to current suffering can be explored and treated with care to attain client centered goals.

The care provided is interactive; balacing insight work, psychoeducation and direct therapeutic interventions with the possibility of having out of session weekly goals to practice. Her practice is informed by professional, personal and academic experiences cultivated over the years. She gravitates towards evidence based practices that acknowledge the mind- body connection. Although she draws upon various therapeutic modalities to support the needs of those she works with, her background in Trauma Studies, Mindfulness Practices, Acceptance Committment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Self Compassion Practices, Exposure Practices, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Existentialism and Somatic Processing are often present. She also appreciates those who find literature, arts, humor and athletics as beneficial for their health and part of who they are.

Message to clients

We are filled with stories of who we think we are, who we think we "should" be, and who we want to be ideally. We also carry with us the stories of out families history, our cultural history, and those of close partners and friends. Learning to live with our stories while also being active creators of our present and idealized future story is challenging at times. I see our growth process as parts of the overall story: Being With (what comes up), Letting Be (that which no longer serves you well although it may have been helpful at one point), and Inviting In (what I would like to do). This is the story humans have been doing for a while, in my personal and humble opinion. I would be honored to be a part of your process as you embark upon this next chapter in your life.
