Professional statement

Rebecca Maguire is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in the States of Rhode Island and Massachusetts who works with individuals across the lifespan, specializing with children and families.

Rebecca’s approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, an evidence-based approach that focuses on helping clients understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected, so that they can begin to make targeted change. She works to help clients understand their physical response to external stressors, and begin to problem-solve ways to introduce moments of calm, to choose to respond rather than react in the face of change.

Rebecca is focused on ensuring that her clients see real progress: her style is interactive, non-judgmental, and positions clients as the experts on where they are now, and where they want to go. A trauma-informed therapist, Rebecca is sensitive to the influence of past experiences on present challenges, and works closely with clients to reframe the narrative of their life in a way that increases self-confidence and compassion.

Rebecca’s first priority in starting with a new client is ensuring that they feel safe, heard, and like an equal partner in the therapeutic process. As a seasoned telehealth provider, she offers the convenience of remote sessions to help make therapy a core component of your self-care calendar.

Message to clients

Thank you for reviewing my profile. I admire every individual I work with for their courage and vulnerability in reaching out for help during challenging times. I am grateful to be able to provide a service which can support individuals in achieving their personal goals and help them to prioritize their overall wellbeing and relationships. I look forward to answering any questions you may have about my practice but here are some answers to common questions.

-I accept several insurances including BCBS and United and use Stripe to process copays electronically which are due the day of session.

-I have over 10 years of experience and I received my Master's in Social Work degree from Boston University and have an LICSW in RI and MA. I have experience working in a variety of settings providing children's services including school based therapy, home based therapy, and telehealth.

-The beginning of the therapy process includes an evaluation and development of a treatment plan. I work with my clients collaboratively to develop individualized treatment plans to reflect and utilize their personal strengths, values, and natural supports and then we work together to reach self identified goals.
