Dr. Reina Remigio is a Psychologist located in Oakland, CA who supports individuals, couples, and families with their mental health and well-being. Many of Dr. Remigio’s clients struggle with their sense of control over their lives, whether that’s feeling extremely out of control of what’s happening around them or tightly controlling their own thoughts and behaviors. Their perfectionistic tendencies or hyper rumination might be the result of trauma, anxiety, depression, or personality disorders. Dr. Remigio supports clients as they explore new ways of experiencing the world and work towards healthier coping strategies.
Dr. Remigio practices Radically Open Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (RO DBT), a therapy approach that offers individuals effective coping strategies that focus on the feeling and exertion of control. Clients learn how to identify instances where their attempts to control their emotions or behaviors actually get in the way of healthy connection or self-worth. She also practices Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Motivational Interviewing, providing clients with differing perspectives from which to see their challenges, empowering them to make choices aligned to their core values.
Dr. Remigio earned a PhD and has extensive experience treating eating disorders and personality disorders. She enjoys partnering with her clients and collaborating on their mental health journey, letting them lead the way towards healing.
