Psychologist, PsyDDr. Renae Norton is a Psychologist located in Cincinnati, OH. Dr. Norton is an expert on treating eating disorders, including anorexia, bulimia, Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID), and more. She also works with clients who are overweight or obese and would like to change their relationship to food. Many of Dr. Norton’s clients have tried therapy or residential treatment before, however they still struggle with the symptoms of their mental health condition. Dr. Norton tailors treatment for the individual and looks at each client’s situation from a biopsychosocial perspective.
Dr. Norton’s approach to working with clients through many evidence-based therapy modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based therapy, internal family system, and Solutions-focused Brief Therapy. She helps clients identify and address the painful emotions that surface as they go through daily life. Dr. Norton also teaches clients how to foster healthy relationships with those around them such as family or friends. Because she offers therapy from her home, clients can participate in meals with Dr. Norton that are nonjudgmental and pressure-free.
Dr. Norton earned her PsyD from Wright State University. She has over 35 years of experience working with clients and their families. She is passionate about promoting food as medicine and opens her practice to any client who would like to grow their connection to emotions and to make changes in their relationship with food.
