Rhea Lester is a Licensed Professional Counselor located in Texas, she earned a Master’s degree from the University of North Texas. Rhea has over fifteen years of experience working with clients who have experienced trauma and difficult life transitions. She specializes in helping clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, PTSD, and/or C-PTSD as a result of trauma or other difficult life transitions. Many of Rhea’s clients find that it’s difficult to get through regular daily routines because of their emotions or physical issues related to past traumas. Rhea helps these clients process through their difficult emotions and develop the skills they need to live comfortably.
Rhea’s approach to therapy draws from Cognitive and Somatic approaches. Rhea applies techniques from Internal Family Systems therapy along with Solution-focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to help clients process and re-frame painful or disturbing thoughts and emotions. Along with these approaches, Rhea applies somatic techniques to help clients work through trauma and emotional dysregulation. Rhea's trauma-informed techniques include Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing therapy (EMDR), Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Trauma Conscious Yoga (TCY).
From the start, Rhea uses tools to help clients gain a new perspective and form new thought patterns to move towards more resilience and personal empowerment. Rhea is particularly sensitive to each client’s needs when it comes to feeling safe, which is why she strives to create a calming, comfortable therapeutic space in all sessions.
Rhea enjoys collaborating with clients to determine their mental health goals and provides genuine encouragement as clients make progress towards those goals.
