Professional statement

Rhonda Fosyth is a licensed professional counselor in Woodland Park, CO. While Rhonda has advanced education and experience working within the mental health field, her practice is unique because of her dedication to psychological astrology. Rhonda uses psychological astrology to fuel personal transformation and believes that a client’s spirituality is important not for religious aspects but to bring together the mind, body, and soul. Rhonda embraces her identity as a Scorpio Sun and encourages her clients to embrace their whole selves and propogate self-love.

Rhonda’s practice includes evidence-focused therapy tools such as Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), a tool that utilizes physical stimuli, acknowledgement and acceptance of a problem, and self-awareness to support an individual through anxious or depressed moods. Many of Rhonda’s clients are going through major life transitions and feel ungrounded, stuck, or confused about which path to take.

Before becoming a counselor, Rhonda went to school to become a massage therapist, which opened her eyes to Reiki healing. Rhonda brings energy work into her sessions with clients and supports clients in unlocking their negative or traumatic experiences to process them and let go.

Message to clients

I believe that now more than ever, holistic therapy is crucial. Struggles occur on many levels within your experience. Your body takes in the environment and processes information before your brain even registers it. Your energy system picks up and reacts to the vibes of those around you and the collective pulse. Your emotions are triggered all over the place. Thoughts move backward and forward in time so fast that the present moment is hard to find.

The first step on your path is getting support to help calm your nervous system. Engaging in therapy can help you work through the overwhelm that is being experienced now. Crisis points, global, personal or the combination of both that we have now, will challenge you to know and understand yourself. This is also the work of therapy. It is time to make the time to cultivate that inner Self-spark that needs some breathing room. Together, we will uncover your voice, your passions, your boundaries and your direction forward.

Sometimes we make life choices before we really know who we are. There can be a real struggle with fears of living up to societal and/or family expectations. Now is an opportunity to take the time to discover what is truly important and make sure that you are on the path that makes the most sense for you. In our work together, you will be challenged to dive in and identify what is truly important to you, based on your values. As you identify what is important to you, you will discover what you have outgrown and what needs to be dismantled so that you can start to build and shape new structures that resonate with you and the life you want to create.

Psychological Astrology - Psychological astrology combines traditional astrological knowledge and techniques within the container of a therapeutic counseling relationship. Exploring the individual birth chart can help you to better understand your unique personality traits and temperament, and to gain insight as to how you may respond to your unique environment.

Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) - High sensitivity is a real, research-based characteristic. Highly sensitive people are found in equal numbers in both males and females and make up about 20% of the population. Being highly sensitive comes with both advantages and drawbacks.

Trauma - Coping and healing after threatening or scary events, such as witnessing accidents or experiencing sexual, verbal, emotional, or physical abuse

Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder)

Mindfulness - Developing practices to encourage a state of active, open attention on the present

Life transitions - Coping with difficult or impactful life changes, such as moving to a new area, relationship transitions, child rearing, or career changes; learning self-care to better manage resulting stress
