Riley Mailhot is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and member of the group practice East Cost Mental Wellness in Providence, RI. They specialize in supporting individuals as they navigate, question, or transition in their gender and sexual identities. Riley also welcomes couples of all identities and relationship structures into their practice.

Riley provides a safe space to help clients explore how their unique identities influence their relationships and self-understanding. Riley uses evidence-based treatment approaches to provide clients with highly individualized, goal-oriented care. Using skill-building approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness practices, they collaborate with their clients to understand how the past plays a role in their present and future.

Riley has been working with the LGBTQIA community and HIV+ population for over a decade, with notable experience working with trans youth and couples navigating the impact of a partner's substance use on the relationship. They received their Master’s in Social Work from Rhode Island College, and currently offer sessions for individual adults, adolescents, families, and groups.

My practice uses many different theories and treatment modalities to help you find the right fit so that you can move forward in your life. Together we can embark on a journey that will highlight what is going right in your life as well as define and explore areas in need of growth and change. Transgender & gender identity topics - Exploring gender identity, including trans, non-binary, and gender variant identities; support throughout the process of transition

LGBTQIA and sexuality topics - Exploring topics of sexuality, gender, and identity; coping with discrimination and oppression; navigating relationship, family, and cultural challenges

Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder)

Depression - Providing support and promoting healing through hopelessness, low motivation and energy, sadness, irritability, sleep disturbance, and loss of interest and pleasure in life

ADHD (Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder) - Skill-building and support around organizational challenges, distracted attention, procrastination; building and maintaining healthy routines and structure
