Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, LPC-A National Certified Counselor, NCCHe/Him/His
Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, LPC-A National Certified Counselor, NCCRobert Coltharp is a Licensed Professional Counselor - Associate located in Dallas TX. Robert provides effective support for individuals who feel like they aren't good enough. Many of Robert's clients undermine their own achievements and engage in damaging self-talk. They tell themselves that they aren’t capable of having loving, healthy relationships, or that they will never get a promotion. This can lead to depression and lack of motivation to show up in their own lives. It can also lead to relationship issues including conflicts with loved ones, toxic relationships, and more.
Robert’s approach to therapy focuses on the harmful thought patterns that can lead to self-doubt and low self-worth. He practices Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to teach clients about the connection between thought patterns and their emotions, as well as their actions. He is a strengths-based, trauma-informed therapist, so he not only identifies and appreciates clients’ innate strengths and resilience, but he also strives to create a safe, secure space where clients of all identities feel comfortable talking about their mental health.
Robert earned a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Southern Methodist University. He enjoys working with the LGBTQ community and helps all clients reach their mental health goals. He is currently pursuing a PhD and continues to elevate his skills through additional training.
