Professional statement

Dr. Goldblatt is an experienced psychologist who enjoys working with clients going through life transitions, especially college age and aging adults. He has a passion for treating caregivers and individuals experiencing conflict in their lives (e.g. marital problems/divorce). Dr. Goldblatt also has a special interest in supporting individuals with Parkinson's disease and their caregivers.

Dr. Goldblatt uses many evidenced based, therapeutic approaches that include, but are not limited to: cognitive behavioral therapy, strength based therapy, and supportive therapy.

Dr. Goldblatt spent 37 years working in the medical school and in the school of health professions at New York University, where he was an instructor, mentor, and researcher. His worked resulted in many publications and presentations at both national and international conferences. Dr. Goldblatt's experiences enabled him to develop his areas of expertise and passion.

Dr. Goldblatt in both East Greenwich and Woonsocket. He can also provide treatment through telehealth. At this time, his primary availability is in the East Greenwich office. As an experienced and compassionate psychologist, I have treated clients across the lifespan with a variety of presenting issues. My passion is working with individuals grappling with life's diverse challenges and transitions.

I have a deep commitment helping you navigate these transitions with empathy and respect by helping you identify your strengths and using evidenced based treatment approaches.

Caregiver stress & support - Coping with anxiety, stress, fatigue, and burnout related to caring for a loved one; balancing the needs of others with one's own needs and health

College & graduate student mental health - Specialized strategies for common issues of young adulthood, including school and career stressors, support around healthy relationships, existential concerns, drug or alcohol issues, eating disorders, and anxiety and/or depression.

Aging related concerns - Coping with memory loss, loss of independence, and other physical and/or mental impacts of aging. May include support for family or caregivers and resource planning for changes in living situation.

Divorce & separation - Questioning or feeling unsatisfied in your relationship; contemplation and navigation of separation; addressing issues of power, voice, and communication challenges

Life transitions - Coping with difficult or impactful life changes, such as moving to a new area, relationship transitions, child rearing, or career changes; learning self-care to better manage resulting stress

Conflict resolution - Learning how to effectively and compassionately communicate in the face of conflict, whether at work or in personal life
