Professional statement

Robin Cullen is a Licensed Professional Counselor located in Kenosha, WI. Robin has over 30 years of experience working with children, parents, and families. She enjoys working with adults who feel overwhelmed with the responsibility of parenthood, especially when their children demonstrate behavioral issues. Many of her clients have high levels of self-judgment that hold them back from feeling confident, especially when it comes to their relationships. She also supports individuals, couples, and families that face the impacts of anxiety and depression.

Robin copyrighted her therapeutic framework, which she created with her extensive experience working with clients. She draws from various evidence-based therapy modalities including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness-based therapy practices. She teaches clients how to regulate their emotions so that they have the tools they need to feel in control in moments of distress. This is especially helpful for clients who struggle with postpartum depression, are single mothers, or face elevated stress in the workplace.

Robin earned a Master’s degree from Northern Illinois University. She offers therapy in sign language and is a strong ally to the deaf community. She previously worked in the school system helping students learn about their emotions. She is passionate about helping parents set goals for their mental health and work towards these goals with intention.

Message to clients

Creating Change Collaboratively is my goal. I am here to support. You don't need to go through whatever brought you to counseling alone. Whether you struggle with anxiety, depression, parenting, postpartum depression, work stress or life changes, we can work together to get you to where you want to be. I have 30 years of experience in public schools helping students and their parents learn how to regulate their emotions and mood. Whether you are an adult struggling or a parent of child with challenging behavior I can help either through counseling or coaching services.

Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder)

Depression - Providing support and promoting healing of hopelessness, low motivation and energy, sadness, irritability, sleep disturbance, and loss of interest and pleasure in life

Life transitions - Coping with difficult or impactful life changes, such as moving to a new area, relationship transitions, child rearing, or career changes; learning self-care to better manage resulting stress

Parenting - Helping parents develop and implement strategies to address challenges that arise throughout childrearing; managing stress and increasing support

Work stress - Managing overwhelming stress and expectations; increasing effective ways of restoring and maintaining emotional stability and health; addressing challenging relationships with coworkers and bosses. My experience working in schools gives me an unique perspective for working with educators. Education is stressful! If you are an educator feeling stressed and burnt-out, I can help you learn to find balance.

Transition to new parenthood - Working with parents as they adjust to new parenthood
