Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, LCPCRobin Kulesza is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor providing in person therapy in IL, and online in IL, TX, and FL. Robin works with ambitious professionals who have experienced childhood trauma, domestic violence or abusive relationships. The memories of these traumatic experiences interrupt their daily lives, and their trauma manifests into anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, stress reactions in the body, or problems feeling connected to others. Robin’s clients might face challenges in their relationships and are confused about what steps to take to address those challenges. Robin helps them understand their situation and move forward. Client are educated on different methods of regulating their emotions, body sensations, and ways of feeling safe and close to others. EMDR Intensives are offered in person and online.
Robin practices an evidence-based therapy modality called Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. In EMDR, clients process disturbing images to place those experiences in the past, so they can avoid experiencing trauma symptoms in the present. Robin skillfully helps clients grow their coping skills, which can be helpful in any moments of distress. Clients learn how to stay grounded and practice mindfulness through self-awareness. Robin then takes them through somatic therapy, building a stronger connection between mind and body.
Robin studied at both McKendree University and the University of Illinois. She has several years experience working with children who have experienced abuse and trauma. She empowers adult clients to feel courageous, learn healthy boundaries, and to take control over their trauma so they can live peaceful, happy lives. Robin uses focused treatment plans, guidance, and education to help clients learn to trust and gain understanding into their past.
