Professional statement

Robin Zarel is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Midtown, Manhattan who sees both individuals and couples and specializes in work stress, anxiety, depression, chronic illness, and relationship challenges. With a background in Employee Assistance, Robin is intimately aware of the challenges clients face in the workplace, from feeling stuck, unmotivated, and overwhelmed in their careers, to contemplating making a change, pursuing promotions, cultivating strengths, and building confidence. She is dedicated to helping clients decrease stress, identify and remove barriers that are holding them back, and find greater balance in their lives.

Robin works with her clients to develop an individualized treatment plan based on their needs and goals. She enjoys incorporating breathwork, meditation, self-hypnosis, and visualizations, especially for clients who are experiencing anxiety. She is also trained in Clinical Hypnosis, which has been particularly effective with clients who want to quit smoking or manage their weight.

Robin has over three decades of experience in private practice and is passionate about the work she does. She continually attends trainings on new treatment approaches and looks for ways to incorporate them into her practice. She cares deeply about each of her clients and wants what’s best for them. She looks forward to meeting you at her office conveniently located just steps from the 57th Street and 59th Street Columbus Circle subway stations.

Message to clients

Having someone to talk to and problem solve life's difficulties in a safe, confidential place can be the difference between living a happier, more productive life, as opposed to one where you remain stuck in old patterns and behaviors that have not served you well. When choosing a therapist, you are entering into a partnership where trust, experience and knowledge are key ingredients to reaching the goals you set for yourself.
Recognizing dysfunctional patterns, making connections between feelings and behavior, and becoming more mindful of choices that you make are
essential for a successful therapeutic outcome. Acquiring new tools and ways of handling difficult feelings and situations in a safe environment and changing faulty thinking patterns will help you achieve your stated goals.
