Professional statement

Dr. O’Mara is a clinical psychologist with 13 years of education and training at 14 years of work experience. She has worked in universities and hospitals in addition to her own practice.

Dr. O'Mara‘s specialty areas include PTSD, anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, and suicidal thoughts and behaviors.

Dr. O'Mara uses evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Somatic (body-based) Informed Therapy.

However, Dr. O'Mara believes that one of the strongest outcomes of successful treatment is the therapeutic relationship. Having a safe person to talk about your difficulties can be incredibly healing. Dr. OMara will not simply and nod her head, however. She is a very interactive therapist who uses questions and suggestions to help guide treatment. She will also assign you in between session homework to speed up the healing process.

Message to clients

Hello and welcome to my page! My calling in life has always been to be a psychologist to help people with mental health issues. I hope that you will find me to be a caring and compassionate therapist who will guide you through your healing journey. I am a very egalitarian therapist. I don't believe in "I'm the doctor and you're the patient. I will tell you what to do and you will get better." I see us as equals who will work together as a team for you to build a life worth living, where you thrive and become the best version of yourself.
