Professional statement

Sabrina Tropper is a licensed Mental Health Counselor located in New York, NY. Sabrina’s specialty is helping those whose people pleasing tendencies leave them feeling emotionally exhausted and burned out. Many of these clients don’t prioritize their own wellbeing, instead focusing on making sure that everyone else feels comfortable. This behavioral pattern may stem from trauma or past experiences that caused anxiety. Sabrina’s clients seek assertiveness skills and ways to set boundaries with others. They also want to learn how to feel more fulfilled in their lives, as their current ways of seeking happiness aren’t working.

Sabrina is skilled in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, a therapy modality that uses body-based strategies to promote change. EMDR is helpful for those who feel stuck in emotional reactions, and it can be useful in overcoming trauma. Sabrina also incorporates Internal Family Systems therapy and psychodynamic therapy into her sessions to encourage clients to reflect on their backgrounds and early experiences. She guides them through consideration of their deeply held beliefs, which guide the way they interact with others.

Sabrina earned a Master’s degree from Baruch College, the City University of New York. She has a background in social welfare, and is a passionate advocate for several social justice topics, including feminism. She brings this passion into her work with clients, empowering them to live more authentically as themselves while creating meaningful and fulfilling lives.

Message to clients

Your past doesn’t define your future. As a therapist, I’m deeply committed to this philosophy, integrating it into every step of the healing process with my clients. Time and again, I’ve witnessed the incredible transformations that often come from this.

When you choose to work with me, we’ll start with a personal and insightful introductory call to understand your story and ensure we’re a strong fit for each other. From there, I’ll provide personalized recommendations tailored to your unique needs. My approach is collaborative—we decide together on the best path forward.

I’m here to guide, support, and, when necessary, gently challenge you to help you unlock the change you’ve been seeking. With compassion and determination, I aim to empower you to achieve the growth and healing you deserve.

*Sessions are exclusively remote at this time.
