Sara Pulsipher is a Clinical Social Worker who mainly works with teens and young adults, though her approach to therapy is applicable for all ages. Many of her clients are seeking ways to manage the stresses of everyday life while also striving to overcome negative coping strategies such as eating disorders, pornography addiction, or excessive media usage. The challenges faced by most of her clients stem from toxic perfectionism, which in turn leads to mental health challenges that prevent individuals from living a values based life and pursuing their dreams.
Sara’s approach to therapy is built upon evidence based treatments that focus on improving her client’s connections to themselves, their world, and their values. The main modalities she uses in treatment are Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, though she also draws upon her client’s culture and other well known forms of therapy based upon the unique needs of her clients. She believes that her client has the power within themselves to pave their own path on the healing journey, and therefore strives to create an environment with tools for them to do so.
Sara has spent the past five years researching perfectionism among Latter-day Saint culture in addition to collaborating with other faculty at Brigham Young University on research topics ranging from Disney princesses to suicide prevention among youth. She is passionate about culture and languages, and firmly believes that everyone deserves and has the power to create their own happily ever after.
Sara currently only offers remote therapy.
