Sarah Goldman is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in Spartanburg, South Carolina, who primarily works with women across the lifespan with a special focus on perinatal mood disorders. Many of her clients find themselves struggling with their interpersonal relationships, careers, life balance, parenthood, or self-identity. Sarah is aware of how difficult life transitions can become for individuals, such as becoming a parent, changing jobs, moving cities, or other life-altering moments, as they can often lead to symptoms of anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, change or shift in identity and or life goals.
Sarah's approach is rooted in both Interpersonal Therapy as well as Mindfulness Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, evidence-based approaches to target change based on the client's goals for themselves by focusing on helping clients understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected. She also incorporates other approaches to therapy based on the client's needs and presenting problems as well as the client's personality as she understands we all need different things at different times in our lives. One size does not fit all.
Sarah is focused on ensuring that her clients see real progress: her style is interactive, non-judgmental, compassionate, and client-centered. As a trauma-informed therapist, Sarah is sensitive to the influence of past trauma on present challenges wihtin a client's life and works closely with clients to reframe the narrative of their life in a way that increases self-confidence and self-compassion.
