Sarah Pemberton has been working as a therapist in Southern California for 18+ years and specializes in working with adults dealing with a variety of life challenges, including but not limited to developing healthy relationships, challenges within family dynamics, coping with major life transitions, identity development, difficulty regulating mood, depression, anxiety, stress, difficulty regulating mood, college mental health, sexual identity, infertility and career concerns.

Sarah’s therapeutic practice is rooted in a psychodynamic approach to build on client’s internal resources and to better understand one’s reactions to challenges in their life, and how to reshape those reactions. Sarah also has extensive experience working with solution focused therapy that will pull upon skills based as well as relational approaches to helping client’s meet their treatment goals. Her ability to assist clients that are at a crossroads within relationships, family dynamics, planning for the future or any type of life change is very effective for her clients.

Sarah received her Master’s in Social Welfare from the University of California, Los Angeles. She has worked in community mental health settings in Los Angeles and Orange counties, as well as University of California settings in which she is committed to maintaining a diverse and inclusive practice. She has an extensive background in working with families, members of the LGBTQ community, immigrants and first generation clients as well as other underserved populations.

Sarah is currently offering remote sessions for clients that are living in California, with an easy and user friendly client portal. At your first visit you will have an opportunity to share your concerns in a supportive space. Sarah will work with you to identify your needs and develop a plan to help you manage your challenges.

When you are struggling with emotional stress and strain. I know that locating the right therapist can be difficult and very time consuming. I work to take the stress out of the process for you, so that you can start working on challenges you are facing and changes you would like to see in your life. The user friendly client portal that I use will allow you to easily complete initial paperwork, upload financial information, and connect virtually to our sessions. I am looking forward to meeting with you and to come alongside you as you work your way to your goals.
