Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, LICSW Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW Masters in Divinity, MDiv Certified Yoga InstructorSarah Ward is a psychotherapist and yoga therapist in Brooklyn, NY. She works primarily with adults, with a particular focus on young and developing professionals. Many of Sarah’s clients come to her because they feel stuck in patterns that are no longer serving them and report struggling to manage anxiety, stress, and/or depression. Sarah specializes in working with individuals navigating life transitions such as starting or changing a career, beginning or ending a relationship, and becoming a parent or caring for aging parents. Sarah is particularly passionate about working with clients holistically by engaging mind, body, and spirit in the healing process.
Sarah offers an individualized combination of talk therapy, mindfulness, and somatic (body-based) techniques. In session, this might look like talk therapy with an invitation to try mindfulness tools such as breathing exercises and grounding practices. Sessions also might include gentle mindful movement which can create a feeling of safety and connection. Sarah brings a spiritual lens to her practice that is rooted in the yogic philosophy of compassion for oneself and others. She is always ready to meet clients where they are and recognizes that a spiritual life may take many different forms. Sarah’s holistic approach allows clients to cope with life's ups and downs with serenity.
Sarah's style is warm, curious, and non-judgmental. She views the therapeutic process as a collaboration and invites her clients to explore their beliefs and patterns in a comfortable environment where they feel safe, respected, and heard. Sarah works with each individual to develop the skills and insights that they need to become whole and healthy people.
