Sarah enjoys working with neurodivergent clients. Sarah has extensive experience working with individuals with ADHD, austism spectrum disorder, and anxiety. Many of her clients seek new coping strategies after feeling overwhelmed with daily life. She is also passionate about providing new and expecting mothers the support they need to adjust to their new ways of living. Her goal is to empower clients to live confidently and comfortably despite their challenges.
Sarah’s approach to therapy draws from Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She teaches clients how to assess their thoughts and identify any negative patterns that impact their moods. Clients learn how to address their assumptions and self-judgments to view situations from varying perspectives. Sarah also practices narrative therapy as a way to empower clients to reclaim their stories and memories. She strives to make each client feel heard, valued, and respected through her kind, empathetic personality.
Sarah earned a Master’s degree in Social Work from Western Kentucky University. She has over 10 years of experience supporting clients grow and succeed in their lives. She has an additional training and certification in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C), which she uses to support many women who come to work with her. Sarah is also Board Certified in Telemental Health (BC-TMH) to ensure that she provides the best telehealth services possible. She has two cats named Rasputin and Plop (seen in the photos above) who often make appearances in her sessions.
ADHD - Skill-building and support around organizational challenges, distracted attention, procrastination; building and maintaining healthy routines and structure
Adjustment difficulties & disorders - Support around adapting to new and/or challenging life circumstances; skill-building for improved stress management and reduction of anxiety.
Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder)
Autism spectrum disorder - Support understanding the diagnosis and related challenges and strengths; skill-building in areas of daily routine, transitions, coping with overwhelming sensory experiences, and emotion identification and regulation
College & graduate student mental health - Specialized strategies for common issues of young adulthood, including school and career stressors, support around healthy relationships, existential concerns, drug or alcohol issues, eating disorders, and anxiety and/or depression.
Pregnancy, perinatal, postpartum mental health - Addressing issues specific to women and families during the pregnancy and postpartum period, including postpartum depression and anxiety
