Professional statement

Scott Moresi, LMFT, is a licensed psychotherapist who's been practicing in the San Francisco Bay Area for well over a decade and now offers online trauma treatment, as well as IFS and EMDR therapy to people throughout the state of California.

Scott's interest in health and wellness started early on in his life, after going through countless hours of unsuccessful therapy sessions, navigating the mental health care system, and deciding that there had to be a better way.

After many years of personal self-discovery, extensive research in various body-oriented, somatic, and experiential therapy techniques – such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems, and the Hakomi Method – as well as thousands of hours of professional training, Scott has created a unique, holistic approach to psychotherapy, Beyond Words Psychotherapy, that integrates our whole beings (body, mind, and spirit) ... because healing isn't achieved through talking alone.

While Scott's unique approach has shown time and time again to be effective in helping people cope with and overcome anxiety, stress, and depression, it's particularly effective in helping people work through and resolve single-incident and long-term trauma and PTSD, so they can move forward in their relationships and lives with confidence and optimism.

When you're ready to integrate the various aspects of your personality, set and maintain healthy boundaries, and create positive, lasting change and the loving relationships and joyous, abundant life you desire and deserve, don't hesitate to contact Scott with any questions you have.

Message to clients

Counseling and psychotherapy are about letting go of the beliefs and behaviors that keep you from the fulfilling relationships and life you desire and intentionally creating the change you seek.

But the effectiveness of counseling and psychotherapy is largely determined by the rapport and trust you develop with your therapist.

And when we're hurting and in pain, it can be difficult to know what questions to ask ...

I specialize in helping people overcome the unresolved traumas that keep them from living happy, healthy lives. My approach is well-balanced and holistic, based on my extensive professional training, as well as my personal struggles with trauma and navigating the mental health system.

I know just how debilitating trauma can be, as well as how many of the problems we face – anxiety, stress, relationship issues, depression, etc. – often have some sort of trauma at their core ... And I know that help and healing ARE possible!

But healing takes more than talking alone ... we need to integrate our whole beings (mind, body, and spirit). This is why I offer various experiential, body-oriented, and somatic therapy techniques – such as EMDR, the Hakomi Method, and Internal Family Systems – and created Beyond Words Psychotherapy.

When you're ready to gain clarity, realize your full potential, and create a richer, more rewarding, more authentic life, please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions you have. I admire your courage for taking that first step and look forward to helping in any way I can.
