Scottie Klock is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a private practice in Metairie, Louisiana. Though Scottie has a general practice, he specializes in working with clients from the LGBTQ+ community who are struggling with issues including identity conflict, coming out, self-esteem, and relationship problems.
Scottie earned a Masters of Education degree in Mental Health Counseling from University of New Orleans in 2002. He was licensed as a LPC #2966 and as a LMFT #1051 with the Louisiana LPC Board of Examiners. During his career, he has worked in mental health rehabilitations throughout New Orleans and as a manager and lead therapist for the mental health program of New Orleans oldest non-profit facility.
Scottie maintained a part-time private practice between 2006 and 2017. In 2018, he decided it was time to dedicate himself fully to working with the clientele about whom he is most passionate and who could best benefit from his experience and skill set. Since then, Scottie has helped hundreds of individuals and couples navigate through various problems and stressors while teaching them new and effective skills and coping strategies so that they will enjoy happier, more fulfilled lives.
