Sergio creates a compassionate space to process family dynamics (including stressful family dynamics, communication with families, the impact of narcissism in families, etc.), attachment, grief/loss, trauma, and identity. He also focuses on processing the impact of micro-aggressions and the harm that can come to those in minority communities. Sergio is a safe space for those within the LGBTQIA+ community. Clients that Sergio works with need a space for someone to hear them, validate them, help them recognize insights about the situations they are in, and collaboratively helps them approach the challenges in a way that works best for them.
Sergio will focus on understanding your worldview and assist you in discovering new insights and awareness, then collaboratively develop personalized strategies for change. He also connects very will with the community of video-gamers.
He received his MEd/EdS in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Florida. He also has experience as a leader in the counseling community, as president of the honor society of graduate student level counselors. Many of his sessions are working with college-aged young adults and children/adolescents.
He focuses on person-centered techniques, with a warm, empathetic, and accepting approach. He is non-structured, allowing you to bring what you need to during the session and allowing space for hearing whatever it is that we need to release. He believes that everyone inherently has what they need inside of them to gain what they need in life and he helps clients reconnect with their strengths to find those answers. However, is more structured when focusing on specific treatments for ADHD and OCD or on as needed basis, when requested by the client.
Sergio provides telehealth therapy (video counseling) in Florida, South Carolina, and Colorado using a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform from the comfort of. your own home.
