Shahar is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, based in New York City for the past 23 years. She works with clients in person at her office in Chelsea and virtually, via Zoom. Shahar's areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, relationship issues and trauma. She has treated people from all cultures, identities, and walks of life. Many of Shahar’s clients come in when they experience life transition, loss, challenges or a need for of a life change.

Shahar is trained in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and integrates Relational, Interpersonal and Mindfulness modalities. Her unique eclectic approach has been successful in helping her clients to navigate feelings of stress, anxiety, and depression that have impacted their personal and professional relationships.

Shahar believes that transformation happens in collaboration, when one feels heard, safe and understood by a knowledgeable and compassionate therapist. In session, together, Shahar and her clients discover and understand the influence of the clients past on present behavior. Through curiosity and creative explorations, clients gain new insights into their life, which empower them to make the change that they want to achieve.

Shahar's unique approach is based on years of experience in clinical psychotherapy, movement analysis and mindfulness.  She holds a Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work from New York University and a postgraduate certificate in Psychoanalysis and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. She is also a Certified Movement Analyst (CMA) as well as a certified yoga instructor. She has served for over a decade as a senior faculty member at Pratt Institute in the Integrative Mind and Body Program and she is a member of The National Association of Social Workers. Her many years of services holistic approach have helped her clients to make a meaningful shift that is effective in the long run.
