Professional statement

Shannon Angelotti is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with ARISE Psychotherapy Services, who provides individual psychotherapy services to adults seeking to create meaningful change in their lives. Shannon’s clients enter into treatment with symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma, relational challenges, life transitions, emotion dysregulation, elevated stress levels and lifestyle management challenges.

Shannon’s approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a psychotherapy modality that focuses on helping clients understand how their thoughts, feelings and behaviors are inter-connected, so that they can begin to make desired and sustainable changes. Shannon also draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing. She works to help clients understand how physical responses to stressors impact their current behavior and helps them to respond to situations more effectively rather than just reacting. .

Shannon is focused on ensuring that her clients see meaningful progress within the treatment process. Her style is interactive, non-judgmental, and views clients as the experts as to where they currently are and where they want to go in their lives. Shannon understands how past experience can influence current challenges, barriers and struggles. She works closely with clients on reframing their life narrative in a way that improves their self-confidence and self-compassion.

Shannon’s first priority when beginning with a new client is to ensure that they feel safe, validated and like an equal partner within the therapeutic process. Shannon currently offers remote video telehealth sessions only.
