Shaudi Adel is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at Cobb Psychotherapy in Midtown, Manhattan who specializes in eating disorders, anxiety, mood disorders, life transitions, addiction, body image and self-esteem issues, grief, and health and wellness. Many of Shaudi’s clients are college students or young adults in their 20s and 30s. She works with both individuals who have disordered eating or have a history of an eating disorder.
Shaudi has extensive experience in food addiction and eating disorder recovery having worked at a treatment center that focused on binge eating disorder. She works with her clients to develop an individualized treatment plan that fits their goals and needs. Her treatment approach is goal-oriented, utilizing Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness practices. When working with clients with an eating disorder, Shaudi starts with DBT, which includes spending some time explaining this modality and moving through the modules at a pace that feels comfortable for the client. She also helps her clients set goals to monitor progress in future sessions and develop coping strategies specific to her client's individualized mental health needs.
Shaudi’s knowledge and passion shine through as soon as you meet her. She is always reading up on the latest treatment options and research to ensure her clients are getting the best care possible. Her office at Cobb Psychotherapy LCSW is located just steps from Penn Station.
