Professional statement

Ethics: My practice is governed through the American Counseling Association or ACA’s Code of Ethics 2014 which sets the standard for safe and ethical treatment of clients. I believe that change is not a one-step approach, but rather change occurs through small increments which happen through behavior, emotional, and cognitive growth. I am here to help you find your growth together.

Community service is important, and I currently serve as a member in good standing with the American Counseling Association (ACA) and is currently member in good standing with the Chi Sigma Iota and Kappa Delta Pi Honor Societies and am currently the President of Lamar University's Chapter of Chi Sigma Iota.

Approaches & Techniques: My counseling approaches and techniques are client-centered, while using behavioral and integrative techniques tailored to fit the individual or couple. It is my belief that the client is the expert of their own life and knows what they want and need because each journey is unique to the individual.

With that being said, it is ultimately important in creating an atmosphere where clients can communicate their feelings with confidence and know that they are being heard, understood, and not judged with a belief that the client plays an active role in their own personal healing to allow for the greatest amount of growth and progress. Past experience includes working with children for many years in the educational setting and enjoys working with adults, couples, children, and families. Working with others is a strong interest of mine, especially those individuals of families that suffer from grief, abuse, or loss. I desire to embrace my passion for helping people to reclaim their joy, power, and hope in life.

Message to clients

The overall experience is the most important thing to me as a counselor and I strive to create an atmosphere where clients can communicate their feelings with confidence and know that they are being heard, understood, and not judged with a belief that the client plays an active role in their own personal healing to allow for the greatest amount of growth and progress.

Approaches & Techniques: My counseling approaches and techniques are client-centered, while using behavioral and integrative techniques tailored to fit the individual or couple. It is my belief that the client is the expert of their own life and knows what they want and need because each journey is unique to the individual.

My path was chosen through the desire to want to pay forward my experience and education to help others process their emotions, feelings, and/or traumas in a healthy manner. l understand being alone in your pain from my past and want to help ease my clients through their processing of their pain.
