Professional statement

Sienna Mauve works from a humanistic, integrative approach. The way she views therapy is to honor the process of taking disowned or unresolved aspects (or parts) of the self and bring them together in order to help one find their "true authentic self." This process reduces defense mechanisms, and supports each client to integrate those protective parts in order to engage with the world, themselves and the people they care about. Sienna bring presence, as well as unconditional personal regard to all her clients.

An imperative piece for Sienna as the therapist, is learning and honoring the background and history of the client. Finding out what they hold sacred, their particular beliefs and history and treating each client as the unique individual they are.

The main orientations and counseling approaches Sienna works from are Humanistic, Gestalt, IFS and Transpersonal. When working from a Humanistic frame, Sienna is meeting the clients as equals, knowing that there is a lot to learn from each other and remembering that we are all working on ourselves all the time. Sienna has always held the perspective that the client is the expert, and the therapist is merely there as a guide on their journey.

Currently, Sienna is offering Telehealth therapy to clients from all walks of life.

Message to clients

Deciding to enter therapy takes strength and courage. I work to help people from all walks of life, find integration through welcoming all the parts that make us who we are. I am committed to help Clients work through all unresolved parts, or experiences from their life, in order to regain vital energy and create new possibilities for them.

An imperative piece for me as the therapist is learning and honoring your background and history. Finding out what you hold sacred, your particular beliefs and history and treating you as the unique individual that you are. This is the key to discovering what will work for you.

I will offer an array of tools to support this work, always checking in with you to see what resonates for you, and what isn't the right fit. I believe that there isn't one "right way" to support a person, but there is a right recipe for each individual. It is a gift to discover that recipe with you. I invite this process in through safe, gentle explorations.
