Professional statement
Simona Noaghiul Yland is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with offices in Manhattan and on Long Island. She specializes in helping individuals heal from trauma and understand the impact past experiences can have on their relationships and physical and mental wellbeing. Using an integrative approach that draws from top-evidence based strategies, Simona equips clients with the skills they need to confront daily challenges and move with greater confidence into the future.
Having been trained as a medical doctor in Romania, and clinical epidemiologist in US, Simona has a deep understanding of the connection between the mind and body at the neurobiological level. By leveraging a somatic and mindfulness-based approach, Simona is able to help clients break free of the experiences that have been holding them back, including through the use of EMDR. She also has advanced training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, enabling her to work well with clients who have Borderline Personality Disorder, as well as teenagers who struggle with impulsive or self-harming behaviors.
In addition to her work with individuals, Simona also has experience supporting families and couples at key moments of transition. By opening the lines of communication, Simona facilitates greater connectedness, intimacy, understanding, and love.
Simona takes the time to connect with her clients and build trust, so they feel comfortable, supported and accepted on their therapeutic journey together. She welcomes new clients at both office locations, in Murray Hill and Huntington, NY.
