Professional statement

Stephanie Bonza is a clinical psychologist located in the Ravenswood neighborhood of Chicago. She provides both in-person and remote individual, couples, and family therapy services to clients across the lifespan.

Stephanie approaches her work with her clients with enthusiastic curiosity and genuine care. She understands the importance of creating a safe and nonjudgmental space where her clients feel respected, understood, and valued. Stephanie works collaboratively with her clients to help them unlock their innate strengths, regain a sense of purpose, and overcome barriers to change. She does this by providing practical research-backed knowledge, direct feedback, and empathic guidance.

Stephanie's work is relational in nature, meaning that fostering healthy and rewarding relationships and personal empowerment are central themes addressed in her sessions. Sessions often focus on resolving feelings of resentment, unworthiness, shame, or anxiety that can result from difficult life experiences and relationship challenges. Through this important work, Stephanie's clients learn how to develop an intimate and gentle connection with their inner self, manifest fulfillment in their relationships with other people, and grow the confidence to create the happy life that they deserve.

Stephanie believes that therapy should be an exciting and empowering journey of self-discovery. She is happy that you are here and looks forward to helping you bring joy and authenticity into your relationships with other people and most importantly, with your self.

Message to clients

Healthy and rewarding relationships are the foundation of personal success and happiness. When we experience challenges in our relationships, we can develop underlying feelings of anxiety, hopelessness, shame, or self-doubt. My passion is empowering individuals, couples, and families to regain satisfaction in their relationships through assertive communication skill-building and effective strategies for coping with change and conflict. I believe that with the right support and guidance, everyone has the potential to find meaning and purpose and to create a life of authenticity and fulfillment.

I enjoy working with children and adults experiencing family issues, stress and anxiety, women’s issues, men’s issues, and parenting challenges. The individuals, couples, and families I support are seeking to resolve issues related to communication, parenting, trust, unresolved childhood trauma, and identity.

My goal is to establish a genuine and supportive therapeutic relationship built on mutual respect and understanding. I enjoy collaborating with my clients using humor, honest feedback, and creativity to identify attainable goals and expectations. I invite you to visit my website or contact me if you think my style would be good fit for you or your family.
