Professional statement

Stephanie Ceranec is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the Andersonville neighborhood of Chicago. She specializes in anxiety, body image, depression, eating disorders, trauma, and working with members of the LGBTQIA community.

Stephanie takes a client-centered approach, allowing her clients to bring up whatever challenges they are facing and what they are feeling in the present moment. She incorporates elements of Sensorimotor Therapy, Feminist Therapy, Relational Therapy, Strength-Based Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). She believes in the mind-body connection and utilizes body-centered therapies for clients with a history of trauma or those who feel stuck. She also has a strong network of dietitians and psychiatrists for those clients needing extra support.

Before starting her private practice, Stephanie worked with individuals with eating disorders, including those with a history of trauma, at a residential treatment center for four years. Her office is located off the Red Line at Berwyn. She looks forward to meeting you.

Message to clients

I believe clients deserve a space where they can be unapologetically seen, heard, and witnessed. I bring this belief into my work to allow clients to experience and explore whatever they are carrying with them. This work is done on a foundation of collaboration, curiosity, trust, and compassion. I take into account the complexity of human beings and take careful note in meeting individual needs. I look forward to meeting you and beginning the journey of unpacking.
