Professional statement

Dr. Stephanie Chin, Ph.D., is a doctoral resident passionate about delivering high-quality mental health services to adults and adolescents (aged 15+) in the NYC area. Her clinical focus addresses a range of issues, including trauma, burnout, stress from work or school, panic attacks, trouble sleeping, and the consequences of unhealthy perfectionism, which can lead to low self-esteem, depression, or anxiety.

Dr. Chin’s therapeutic approach is eclectic, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing. She is dedicated to helping clients achieve their life goals by engaging in meaningful conversations about their well-being and navigating through their challenges. Her discussions often explore the negative impacts of racism, sexism, and cultural difficulties.

She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Louisville and completed her pre-doctoral training at Asian Americans for Community Involvement. This experience deepened her commitment to working with diverse communities. Dr. Chin adopts a holistic view of health, tailoring her therapeutic approach to meet the unique needs of each individual in her practice.
