Professional statement

Stephanie Condra, MPS, ATR-BC, LCAP, LPAT has been in practice for over 10 years and worked with thousands of patients—amidst various settings, client/patient age groups, client/patient demographics, and presenting issues. She currently provides telehealth sessions rooted from New York City and Eastern Long Island, New York and Taos, New Mexico. She has previously specialized her practice in direct care and supervision of therapies with acute conditions and diagnoses within Inpatient Psychiatry in Eastern Long Island and Bronx, New York—with strong focus on primary trauma as it impacts those conditions and diagnoses, systemic work, grief and loss, and delivery of trauma-informed care.

Stephanie is a trusted and award-winning clinician. She has been recruited into Assistant Professorships at top-ranking academic Graduate Art Therapy Training programs at Pratt Institute and the School of Visual Arts in New York City. She has consistently won awards individually and unit-wide within the hospitals she has worked, received top percentile rankings for provision of therapy in patient care compared amongst Psychiatric Units across the country, and received the highest ratings of patient satisfaction within unit-wide care for her innovative Creative Arts Therapies programs in each Department in which she has worked.

Let her share this expertise, compassion, and deep attunement with you. Stephanie’s psychotherapy private practice remains founded on a deep appreciation, study, and training in psychodynamic, mindfulness, transpersonal, and energetic bodywork philosophy and technique—infusing each client/patient interaction with hope, gentleness, and openness to both what has transpired in their lives before and to what will unfold and be created together in the present moment, and going forward.

With patience, acceptance, curiosity, and creativity: Let’s work together to discover what is next for you in your journey.

Message to clients

You deserve great care, where all your experiences are welcome. Know that in therapy together, we will honor each of your experiences and the ways that you chose to navigate them in order to stay alive, survive, and even to thrive. Therapy will also challenge you to make sense of past and current conflict or loss in new and meaningful ways. At its core, therapy is the greatest gift you can give yourself, as it allows you to more fully unfold to yourself and your authentic truths and existence.

It is a privilege to be trusted to share in this process, and I do so with gentleness, humor, and using insight orientation from your personal life story to glean new frames and ways of focusing. I am trauma-informed, social action oriented, holistic, and de-pathologizing in how I approach our shared humanness, and seek to treat your whole personhood. I also believe that sharing education on psychological development and language around diagnoses can be relieving and helpful along the way, and that defining these can open more choices for you as it can make sense of many prior experiences that have kept you feeling trapped or stuck--including feeling that way in the systems (healthcare, social, family, etc) of which we are all a part.

I so look forward to exploring your journey forward with you, and defining the unique and personal steps in it that create greater resilience, hope, inspiration, and joy for you each and every day.
