Dr. Stephanie Gold is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist based in Boulder, Colorado. She works with teenagers and adults of all ages. Stephanie is skilled and experienced at helping people who have symptoms of anxiety, depression, and relationship issues.
Stephanie's approach is rooted in Psychodynamic Therapy, an evidence-based approach that focuses on helping clients become aware of the ways in which their coping skills are adaptive (healthy and promoting wellbeing) or maladaptive (causing them to get in their own way). Stephanie helps her clients develop a deeper understanding of themselves by exploring their thoughts and feelings, and gaining insights that can lead to deep and lasting change. Another focus of psychodynamic therapy is understanding how the events and environments from the past shape who you are now. In addition, one of the most essential factors of a successful therapy treatment is the relationship between the therapist and the client. Stephanie is warm, compassionate, nonjudgemental, and reliable; she provides an environment in which her clients feel safe and comfortable to speak about any topic that is on their minds.
Stephanie earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Adelphi University in New York. She completed her internship in Psychology and Behavioral Sciences at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, NY and completed her Post-Doctoral requirements at the Center for Psychological Services in Garden City, NY. She has published research on the Therapy Relationship and the Personal Therapy of Therapists. She is also interested in the Intergenerational Transmission of Trauma.
Stephanie offers in-person sessions in Boulder, CO, as well as virtual sessions to people living anywhere in Colorado or New York.
